Vintage 2013
Vintage 2013 has been a mixed bag, with quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay being harvested at Leven Valley Vineyard with a good yield of Pinot Noir for new owners Mike and Wendy Dontschuk, but Chardonnay yields were much lower than anticipated. The resulting wines are looked forward with high expectations from extremely high fruit quality resulting from this long ripening season, even though volumes will mean only a very small limited amount of Chardonnay will eventually be available. Chardonnay was harvested on the last weekend in April, with Pinot Noir the first weekend in May. A tiny amount of Gewurztraminer was also harvested, but unfortunately for our followers of the "G" so small that it will never be available commercially.
